David Brewer |
As one of Ontario’s most respected bird banders, David was heavily involved in all the banding work that lead to the realisation of the need for a banding station on the Lake Huron Coastline. David arranged the spring 2006 banding effort which involved seven overseas volunteers and has lead to the creation of AuBO. David is also on the Board of Directors that meets regularly to organise fundraising efforts to support the banding operation and educational program.

Peter Fearon |
Peter was the longest term volunteer of spring 2006 and has spear-headed the progression of PBBS into AuBO. Peter handles all the day-to-day running of the observatory, volunteer recruitment, educational programming as well as being the current Chief Bander.
As the youngest member of the team, Peter graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2005 with honours bachelors in Applied Ecology with study in North America, having spent a year studying at Buffalo State College, NY. Peter has been banding since before he can remember, having almost being born at his parents banding site! He is very experienced with European birds, having banded over 130 species in Britain and Portugal, where he has run banding stations before PBBS, on top of almost 90 North American species. An experienced backpacker, Peter spends his spare time travelling around different countries in the best way he knows how -with no money and a pair of binoculars!
Peter will now continue to work on behalf of AuBO, teaching children of all ages, from schools, youth organisations and scout groups when he isn’t committed to banding duties. |

Ray Marsh |
| Ray was another member of the team that came from overseas as part of spring 2006 migration monitoring. After a distinguished career in the British Army, and a spell owning his own business, Ray retired recently to the sunny shores of southern Spain where he lives with his wife, June. Ray runs the Gibraltar Bird Observatory for six weeks each year as part of fall migration efforts on the rock. We look forward to welcoming Ray back to Canada in spring 2007 for migration monitoring where his 25 years of banding experience will enhance our team incalculably. |

Kevin Grundy |
| Based in London, On, Kevin is another experienced bander and a great asset to AuBO. A weekend visitor (we haven’t been able to persuade him to quit his job yet) he brings a wealth of information on birds from all over the world. As a key member of the Jersey Ringing Group in the 1980’s, Kevin banded thousands of birds a year, as well as having a full head of hair. Kevin will help co-ordinate the Tree Swallow nest box project that we hope to initiate in spring 2007. |
